Hair Removal
OVERVIEW:
Excess and unwanted hair is a common problem. Women frequently experience this condition on the face, especially the upper lip or eyebrow area, in the bikini area, under the arms or on the legs. Men often wish to free themselves of hair on their back or chest. They may have unwanted hair between their eyebrows or on other parts of their face.
What, why of unwanted, excess hair?
Unwanted hair is a problem common to both men and women.
- In many cases the condition runs is hereditary.
- Race can also be a factor - whites are more prone to having excess facial hair than are black skinned people.
- Some women get unwanted hair as they reach puberty; which at times gets worse with age.
- Women may experience extra hair growth during pregnancy or menopause due to hormonal disturbances.
- Women who experience sudden hair growth should consult their doctors, as this may be a sign of other medical conditions.
Hair does not come in any one size or type. Hair can grow in thick, shaggy patches or in long thin strands. In addition, it can be found at different depths. This great diversity in hair types and body locations has made permanent removal of excess hair a major challenge.
Conservative hair removal procedures:-
- Shaving: it is a short term and painful method. Men shave their faces, and women shave their underarms, legs and bikini areas.
- Depilatory creams: a temporary solution. You can even develop allergic reactions.
- Waxing: hair-free days for two to four weeks. The process can cause skin irritation, inflammation and ingrown hairs. Diabetic patients should avoid waxing as it may cause infections.
- Electrolysis: it is costly and time taking, so usually done on small areas such as the upper lip, eyebrows, and underarms. The process is painful. Side effects are dry skin, scarring, and inflammation. Infection is also a risk.
Permanent hair removal:-
In hair removal terminology, the word 'permanent' does not mean forever! Permanent could mean anything that could last a few weeks, months or even a year.
What most of the permanent hair removal methods really propose is hair reduction, which lessens over time. Most hair removal techniques aim towards the complete destruction of a hair follicle's ability to grow again, but are rarely 100% successful.
- Laser hair removal: A laser beam is directed through to the hair follicle, where it stops growth. It works best on light-skinned people with dark hair because the melanin in the hair absorbs more of the light, making treatment more effective. Usually gives long lasting results.
- Intense light pulse system: Use targeted flashes of light to block the re-growth possibility of the hair follicle. Used for treatment of large areas quickly and effectively. Is an expensive method, but results are remarkable.
- Satellite laser hair removal: Permanent, fast, convenient and safe. The procedure begins as soon as a hair removal satellite passes overhead. Permanent hair removal from space!!! Can cause irritation and blisters.
So, now no hairy problems. Get smooth, silky flawless skin without any difficulty.
